Just Days Until Our #Ohm #Music @AppStore release

After months of intense design work, we finally pulled the trigger on submitting our 1.0 Beta release to Apple’s App Store (more improvements to come shortly after!). Ohm Music is a music player app that we hope will take your on-the-go music listening experience to the next level. We’ve build in a number of improvements such as a dynamic queue to quickly build playlists on-the-go, gesture controls, playlist artwork and colors, and sleek artist collection pages to make  your existing iPod music library both more beautiful and more useful to you.   If all goes well we hope it will be out come mid next week. meanwhile, we’ve attached a few screenshots just to get you excited.. stay tuned!!

PS- if you have an Android phone, we’ll be releasing a very similar update on or around the same day, so no worries you will not be left out in the cold! :)

The 2012 @TedPrize goes to the city of the future #urban #design
In past years, the TED conference (Technology, Entertainment, and Design), has awarded a TED Prize- $100,000 and a prime time speech to articulate their world-changing vision- to only one exceptional individual. This year that changed when TED announced that the winner was not a person but an idea- the city of the future, or the City 2.0. The organizations behind this extraordinary initiative- IBM, Razorfish, Autodesk, and The Knight Foundation- have articulated beautifully why the city is so important to our future and why we must take care in building it correctly:

I  am the crucible of the future.I am where humanity will either flourish or fade.I am being built and rebuilt every day.I am inevitable. but I am not yet determined.I wish to be inclusive, innovative, healthy, soulful, thriving. but my potential can only be reached through you.you can forge a new urban outlook. begin by connecting. imagine a platform that brings you together, locally and globally. combine the reach of the cloud with the power of the crowd. connect leaders, experts, companies, organizations and citizens. share your tools, data, designs, successes, and ideas. turn them into action.together you can:    bridge the gap between poor and rich communities.    spectacularly reduce your carbon footprint.    make nature part of daily life.    empower entrepreneurship.    re-imagine education.    nurture health.I am the city 2.0. dream me. build me. make me real.

Shout out to our friends over at Foursquare for putting together impressive visualization. It reminds me of those flight pattern maps from airport controllers, the cool thing is that this set of data was entirely crowd-sourced.
