    #New #Music: Victor EP by @whoszed & @OmarLinX
This new EP collaboration between beat-maker Zed’s Dead & rapper Omar Linx is advertised as ‘genre-bending’, and that couldn’t be closer to the truth. These 7 tracks synthesize nostalgic pop samples,  sharp rhymes, and heart-stopping dubstep beats into a seamless sonic creation. If you are partial to hip-hop, rap, or dubstep, and especially if you like all of the above, give it a listen. @Soundcloud widget embedded courtesy of Mad Decent or you can click the picture to download from Mediafire directly. Enjoy!

    Introducing Dondada

    @RealDondada is one of the best MCs I have heard in a long time, this includes the talented @JColeNC and @Drake. It is open for discussion but (for me) he is everything I love about Scarface, @YoungJeezy with a sprinkle of Mystikal. Forget the Hip-Pop that is pervasive on the airwaves now. Dondada delivers those verses that make you hit rewind just so you can hear the punch-line again. Harkening back to sitting either on the stoop or in the day-room, ‘Dada manages to spit the rhyme, hum the chorus’ melody, and tap out the beat that gives his rhymes HIS unique sound. In a seemingly endless stream of punchlines, he tells his compelling story and keeps you captivated from beginning to end. For any MC who claims to be the best, I suggest you take a note or two. CLICK THE VID to above to hear “Sideways” and FOLLOW THE LINK to hear “Married To This Game.”

    Lost in Translation: #newmusic by @g_eazy
We have previously blogged about G-Eazy’s stellar debut mixtape, “The Endless Summer”, but his recent single release is original enough to deserve its own shout-out. Originally leaked on @Earmilk, the track feeds off inspiration from his travels to Japan.Gillum samples the Japanese pop hit ONPONPON by Japanese pop singer きゃりーぱみゅぱみゅ (aka Kyary Pamyu Pamyu). And his album art/song title is itself a shout-out to one of the great American movies on traveling Japan, ‘Lost in Translation’ starring Bill Murray. Creative flourishes aside, Gillum’s track packs a great beat and a fantastic lyrical style. Grab it via the @Soundcloud embed below and we look forward to hearing more soon!

    Ryan Rappin’ Leslie

 @RyanLeslie is in the studio working on yet another album, but it just so happens that we may be seeing a “different” side of Mr. Leslie…his more “lyrical” side, as in “rapping.” Get a load of Ryan in the studio working on a song from his upcoming “hip hop” album entitled “Les is More”, I’m curious to see how well he’ll be received as a rapper, we all know the guy is talented, but few have been successful in the transition from r&b to hip hop. Please CLICK PHOTO for a behind the scenes look into Ryan Leslie in the studio.

    Common’s “Sweet” video
@Common takes us into #Haiti with an edgy look into his new single “sweet.” Doesn’t look like Common came to play games or serenade the ladies with this piece!  It looks more like he’s going after a few emcees, kinda reminiscent of the “dis” song he made when “beefing” with former #NWA rapper #Ice Cube, with “I see the b*tch in you.” Luckily all of that’s been resolved, so please CLICK THE PIC for Common’s latest video….”Sweet.”

    @Ludacris goes in on @Drake and @BigSean

Ludacris has had success in the music game because he has always been himself. A fun, happy-go-lucky guy that never takes himself too seriously nor puts up a pseudo gangsta persona. Check out ANY of his videos and this is blatantly obvious. His new mix tape “1.21 Gigawatts” dropped yesterday on DatPiff.com and there a few tracks that have the industry buzzin’. Tracks number 5 and 6, “History Lesson” and “Bada Boom”, respectively, has Luda going in on Drake and Big Sean. Big Sean and Drake have been talking reckless about Luda stealing their flows. (WTF?!) However, on “History Lesson” Luda sends them a “reminder” on the timeline of events and provides the evidence to support his claims. And “Bada Boom”, in my opinion, is a “warning shot” to the two young MCs to not make him take specific aim on them. CLICK THE PIC to see Luda’s interview on #SwayInTheMorning. In the clip he performs a verse from “I’m on Fire”. FOLLOW THE LINK to download the new mix tape in it’s entirety.

    @Ludacris Rents Out Atlanta Motor Speedway
@Ludacris is one of my favorite MCs.  And if the Karma Fisker is my main squeeze then the Ferrari 458 Italia is my mistress.  The 458 is my favorite non-electirc car.  Luda seems to share the same feeling.  He has many cars but also calls the 458 his “favorite”.  CLICK THE PIC to see him rent out Atlanta Motor Speedway to warm the car up.  I say “warm up” because in order to really realize the engineering genius that is built in this vehicle it needs to be deployed on a road track instead of an oval.  I will spare you the engineer’s analysis.  FOLLOW THE LINK to hear Luda’s “I Can Buy That”.  (Warning: explicit lyrics). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lm-FMijdp2A
The 1.21 Gigawatts Download is available November 15th.

    Heavy D Dead at 44
Today we mourn the loss of one of Hip Hop’s most talented emcees, Heavy D.  Heavy D (born Dwight Myers) broke into the music industry with Living Large, his first record with the Boyz, in 1987. He went on to even greater success with the hit “Now That We Found Love” in 1991, and recorded theme songs for the television series In Loving Color and MADtv.  At the time of his death, Heavy D was at work on an album called Love Opus, set to feature Anthony Hamilton and Carl Thomas.
