Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams were easily the most revered hip-hop production duo of the early’00s. With beat credits for Busta Rhymes, Clipse, Diddy, and Justin Timberlake, as well as an unforgettable album of their own (In Search Of),anyone who knows anything about hip hop can appreciate what they’ve done. Thankfully, NTS resident Martelo just dedicated his entire two-hour radio show to the group’s prowess. Enjoy 120 minutes of nothing but The Neptunes. F**k The City Up for New Years

I hope that no one gets any crazy ideas and decide to take this in a literal sense. @Tip and @DrDre are dropping the “F**K The City Up” mixtape at midnight tonight, for a New Years Release. The Atlanta native rapper is also throwing a New Years Party in the ATL as he debuts he and Dr. Dre’s collaborative mixtape. I know tons of people are wondering if the new year will also bring #Detox, but it’s safe to say that, not many people really have the answer to that, all I know is that Dr. Dre produced all the tracks for the T.I. Mixtape, so I’m looking forward to a new year filled with great new music.

Echoes of Silence: #New #Mixtape by @theweekendxo

One of 2011’s biggest break out R&B acts, The Weeknd aka Abel Tesfaye, has just released his third mixtape of the year, Echoes of Silence, and made the full track list available to stream or download via @Soundcloud (embed below). This mixtape isn’t as catchy as House of Balloons or Thursday, but there is a depth to it not immediately available in the other two. Stand out tracks: Montreal, Initiation, and Same ol’ Song.
