    @TheophilusL Live in San Francisco

    Last Thursday a few of our @OhmLabs team members made it out to see one of our favorite emerging artists, Theophilus London, at a live show at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco. It was one of the more impressive performances we have seen in awhile— Theo sampled equally from his first LP release out this summer, Timez Are Weird These Days, and his early mix tapes, including ‘I Want You,’ and ‘This Charming Mixtape.’ We thought the least we could do is share some video we captured with ya’ll so you get a taste of what it was like- the feature video is “First Name London, First Name Theophilus,” from his new album. Check out Songkick to see if you can catch him on tour in a city near you.

This eclectic mix highlights some of the best samples in electro, hip hop, even dubstep, from this past summer’s Craft Singles by Aleon Craft to 2003’s Black Album. Full track list below, you can listen within this post or click the picture above to click through to Soundcloud. I dig the self-aware Hollywood vibe in the new video for Theophilus London’s Why Even Try.  The track, featuring Sara Q from Tegan and Sara, was the first single off Lovers Holiday, which dropped Feb. 7.

    The video was directed by Bryan Schlam (which I hear means something) and produced by MTV as a part of the network’s indie music month.
